Yallingup Hills Retreat - OFF GRID

This stunning site is located in the Yallingup hills with extensive views over the landscape to Smiths beach. Cognisant of its exposed location and bush fire rating, the concrete and cor-ten materials and form provide an enduring design solution to the site.

Due to its location, the house has been designed to allow it to be able to be off grid, with solar power, batteries and on-site water collection.

Visually the main house floats over a natural clearing with the garage sunk into the side of the hill to form a bunker, hidden from view. Floor to ceiling glass in the living and dining room take advantage of the stunning outlook. Sliding perforated screens provide protection from the afternoon sun and winter storms. Hidden doors either side of the kitchen provide concealed access to the master suite and study area.
